1. Conundrums by Class Dojo.
Not sure if you’re already using or are familiar with Class Dojo, but we learned about it through our children’s school. They use the Class Dojo app to send timely communication, announcements and updates, including photos of what our kids are doing in class.
They released a series of ‘Conundrums’ learning experiences for kids (aimed at ages 6-14) in March and our daughter (and I!) have been enjoying them. The kids do end up with a little screen time (a few minutes of a short animation) where they explain the ‘conundrum’.
But the magic is in the thoughtful questions and worksheets that follow, which encourage discussion about the ‘why’ behind each perspective.
There is no right or wrong answer. It’s meant to nurture your child’s problem solving and critical thinking skills. My daughter loves filling out the worksheets on her iPad in the GoodNotes app, but I actually just enjoying talking through her thoughts.

2. Kanopy
“Enjoy thoughtful entertainment”. Our friend ‘C’ had already introduced us to Khan Academy Kids, a great way to keep the kids entertained while still being educational! Then our local library contacted me via email and let me know that with my public library card, we’d be able to access Kanopy and the resources in it for free (thank you, City of San Rafael!).
What’s great about Kanopy is it has all kinds of content – film, stories, and kids’ specific programming. There is a Kanopy Kids section, but there is plenty for adults as well!

3. Stand in Solidarity.
As an Asian American woman myself, I was deeply saddened by the numerous attacks that occurred last month. We donate to some social justice organizations but had never thought to seek out ones specifying Asian Americans. In light of the recent attacks on Asian Americans, please check out a few organizations we supported and consider making a donation, thank you! Stop AAPI Hate, Asian Americans Advancing Justice (AAJC), National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum (NAPAWF).
